Players will be able to go online and play in a “unique” four-player online co-op mode in Activision‘s upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops. This is available in addition to the single-player and other multiplayer modes, developer Treyarch’s confirmed today.
Game Hunters revealed this feature a while ago, but today, Treyarch touched upon it a bit more.
“The game will also feature distinct multiplayer and co-op modes,” Treyarch Studio Head Mark Lamia told GamerZines, “and though specifics regarding our co-op mode have not yet been revealed I can tell you that we’ll be delivering a unique online co-op mode for up to four players, with local split-screen for two.”
Because specifics on the co-op mode have yet to be revealed, we don’t know whether or not the co-op mode will be similar to that of Call of Duty: World At War, their previous Call of Duty title. The game saw a multiplayer mode where players would join together in fending off hordes of zombies.
“We very much listened to what people said about the Zombies gameplay that we made for World at War,” said Lamia in an interview with GamerZines later, “and while we haven’t announced what our co-op mode is, I think regardless that’s a co-op gameplay mode and there are a lot of things to garner from that.”
Hopefully, E3 will reveal just what this co-op mode is all about.
Call of Duty: Black Ops launches across PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PC on November 9.
