Update 2: Destructoid‘s obtained a higher-res image of the placeholder art. We’ve attached it at the bottom of this post for your viewing pleasure.
Update: Ubisoft has responded to e-mails regarding the leak: “Ubisoft confirms the authenticity of this image and will provide more information next week.”
Original: Recently, Ubisoft registered a domain name for AssassinsCreedBrotherhood.com and shortly after, began teasing the next game’s announcement via Facebook. It looks like a leaked GameStop placeholder may have gotten to their next announcement before they did.
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, it’s called. The box art shows Ezio Auditore, the star of the second game, on the cover as well as four other assassins behind him. The back of the box features a number of blurbs, clearly typed out for you below:
“Live and breathe as Ezio, now a legendary master assassin, in his struggle against the Templar order. Lead your own brotherhood of Assassins and strike at the heart of the enemy. Rome.
“And for the first time, take part in an innovative multiplayer layer allowing you to embody an assassin of your choosing and define their killing style.
“A never-before-seen online multiplayer experience.
“Lead your own brotherhood of assassins, as Ezio, and conquer Rome.”
In other news, pre-ordering the game at GameStop lands you an exclusive multiplayer character. Yeah! /sarcasm
Stay tuned for E3, where more will most likely come out of this.
