Nier is just about finished development and soon on its way to retailers for its May 27 release. You’d think the development team would be resting now after the game’s long development, but the development team is definitely not at rest. They’re working on downloadable content.
In a new interview with Xbox.com (Japan), Nier executive producer Yosuke Saito said that immediately after the game was completed development, they began working on downloadable content. He did not get into specifics about what kind of content we’ll be seeing, though.
Another interesting detail Saito revealed is that each of the game’s weapons has its own story. These are told through books known as “Weapon Stories” in-game. Saito mentioned plans to release these stories in book form at some point.
Nier launches in North America for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 27, 2010.
Thanks, Andriasang.
