Ten years after the release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, Capcom and Marvel have announced that they’ve teamed up once again to create Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. We knew the announcement was coming, but the feeling it brings is still shaking within me as I type this.
The legendary Capcom and Marvel fighters come back under Capcom’s MT Framework engine in a sequel promised to be “the most epic fighting game ever developed.” The MT Framwork is the same engine used to develop Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2 and this is the first time it is ever being used to power a fighting game.
Aerial combos, hyper combos, and other new original gameplay aspects will be introduced in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Three-on-three tag-team fighting also returns, allowing players to pick a team of all stars to bring to the fight.
Finally, Capcom is promising a “deep” story brought to life by a “moving comic” style universe, mixing 2D and 3D visuals.
