Sony files “Arc” trademark, Konami follows with “Gradius Arc”

A new trademark by Sony Computer Entertainment points to the upcoming PS3 motion controller’s official name being “Arc”. Sony’s previous registration for the domain name PlayStationArc.com led us to believe it was the controller’s official name in the first place.

What’s more is that not only was one “Arc” trademarked, but two, and by a different publisher. Konami has trademarked the name “Gradius Arc”, which seems to mix their side-scrolling shooter with the rumored PlayStation controller name.

Is a new Gradius coming to the Arc controller? We may just find out next week at the Game Developers Conference where Sony is set to show the controller off.
