Final Fantasy XIII is out today. Amazing, isn’t it? With the game released on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, publisher relations from each side had something to say about the game’s launch at yesterday night’s celebration party in San Francisco.
Microsoft’s Albert Penello was first to comment.
“It’s really an honor to celebrate the launch of Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360. You know, Final Fantasy is one of the most beloved franchises in the history of games. Every generation brings innovations in music, movies, and storytelling,” Albert Penello, Senior Director of Global Marketing at Microsoft’s Xbox division, lavished. “Final Fantasy really revolutionized the RPG genre and every game pushes the boundary of cinematic entertainment. We would like to thank Square Enix for their amazing partnership to bring Final Fantasy XIII to the Xbox 360.”
“You know, tonight is a milestone on our platform, as well, to have this game on our platform,” Penello continued. “We look forward to a continuing partnership with Square to bring more amazing games to our platform. With that I would like to congratulate the team on an unbelievable new version in the Final Fantasy franchise.”
SCEA’s Rob Dyer followed up Microsoft’s comments.
“When you think about Final Fantasy it is truly synonymous with PlayStation. When you think about Final Fantasy VII it really made the PlayStation 1 a truly mass machine. Now to Final Fantasy X, it helped make hype about what the PlayStation 2 was. Today, we’re talking about Final Fantasy XIII and you know you’re getting a true Blu-ray experience on one disc,” said Rob Dyer, Senior Vice President of Publisher Relations at SCEA.
The crowd cheered and clapped.
“So, I want to thank the Final Fantasy XIII team for making a great game. Do me a favor tonight, check out my post on the PlayStation.Blog where you can find out about the exclusive content you can only get on PlayStation.”
