Atelier Totori officially announced for PS3
Two weeks ago, Gust Corp teased the reveal of a new Atelier game for PlayStation 3. In this week’s Famitsu, the Japanese magazine provides us with the full reveal.
Titled Atelier Totori: Alchemist of Arland 2, the sequel is set five years after Atelier Rorona and allows you to explore the full continent of Arland.
Players no longer take on the role of Rorona, but instead the thirteen year-old Totori Helmond. She has a goal to find her missing mother and wants to be an adventurer to do so. Joining her are her fourteen year-old friends Mimi and Jino.
Rorona’s role in all this is to be Totori’s instructor. She’s twenty-two years-old now and takes on Totori as her first pupil.
Totori, Mimi, Jino and Rorona come together to form the game’s playable party. The screenshots in this week’s Famitsu and Dengeki reveal show them fighting side-by-side.
Every thing in the sequel has improved quite a bit. There are 1.25 times as much voice overs, better visuals, a reformed battle system promising to fix all the inadequacies from Atelier Rorona, and more.
Atelir Totori is nearly complete in development. The game is scheduled for a June 24, 2010 release in Japan for PlayStation 3. That’s most likely next year for us in the west, as NIS America is still working on bringing over the first game.
Thanks, Andriasang.
