Sony rebrands company, SCE now PlayStation-specific
Sony has announced today that its rebranding Sony Computer Entertainment as SNE Platform, or SNEP for short. I can only assume it means Sony Network Entertainment Platform. However, it’s game division – the PlayStation – will split off into a new company known as Sony Computer Entertainment, or the name we still all know and love. SCE will remain solely in use by PlayStation.
These changes will come into effect on April 1, 2010. Phew. For a second I thought the SCE name was gone for ever. It’s actually a good thing that it’s PlayStation-specific now.
