The downloadable action-combat game is played in third-person with players controlling three characters from the film: Kick-Ass, Hit Girl, and Big Daddy. The story involves the three heroes sick of crime who then decide to take action. Players will take on environments such as New York throughout the game’s eight story missions. Local co-op, sub-missions and mini-games, “visceral combat and plenty of gore” are also promised.
Kick-Ass launches on the PlayStation Network on April 15th. Check out the first screenshots at the gallery.

Action-Packed Game For Multiple Platforms Lets Players Control Modern Day Superheroes Based On Upcoming Theatrical ReleaseNew York, N.Y. February 23, 2010 – WHA Entertainment, a publisher and developer of entertainment games based on leading IP Franchises, today announced it is releasing Kick-Ass for the PSN and iPhone April 15th.
Kick-Ass is a superhero action game based on the upcoming theatrical movie by the same name. Players will be put to the test as they take on the role of any 1 of 3 super heroes based on the super characters featured in the movie.
Kick-Ass is a fully 3D action fighting game set in the third-person perspective, where the player can play and control modern day super heroes based on the super characters found in the film of the same name. Gamers will be able to play as the three primary characters in the film – Kick-Ass, Hit Girl, and Big Daddy. The story-driven game draws heavily from the strengths of the intellectual property; an action combat game where the characters finally grow sick of the crime around them, and decide that they will do something about it.
Featuring multiple environments within New York City, players will be faced with eight story missions and encounter frantic super hero action as they face petty thugs and powerful mob bosses. Players will also have a blast with sub-missions and mini-games, to add even more gameplay to the mix. Staying true to the intellectual property, the game will feature visceral combat and plenty of gore, as the player’s main goal is to bring justice back to the city, no matter what the cost!
Featuring multiplayer local co-op gameplay, Kick-Ass brings an unsurpassed integration of Facebook and Twitter to the PSN Network.
Many of the Kick-Ass missions are given via friend requests from the FACESPACE social networking site.Kick-Ass will make its first public appearance at next month’s Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco.
