Nomura’s 2010 project requested greatly by fans
Update: While Nomura is working on a new title, it looks like he never actually said anything about how requested it is, etc. More here.
Original: In the latest issue of Japanese magazine Gamega, Final Fantasy Versus XIII director Tetsuya Nomura teases his next project to be revealed in 2010.
While Nomura couldn’t name his new project, he did drop rather interesting hints on it. Apparently, it’s a yet-to-be-announced game, one that fans have been asking for and many are anticipating; he’s even received personal requests about it. Nomura says there will be a huge reaction to the the game’s announcement.
Here’s the direct quote from the magazine:
“I can just say, that indeed, whereas I’m still working on Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Agito XIII and a little later on The 3rd Birthday (this year), we will announce other games this year and one which is terribly waited from everyone and often “REQUESTED” by fans and even by the press crew that I meet all over the world.”
Combine that with the fact that one of Nomura’s new games is described as “not totally new.” Sounds a lot like Final Fantasy VII to me.
2010 is going to be a big year for Nomura. Final Fantasy Versus XIII reveal, new project and who knows what else is coming down the line.
Thanks, RPGLand.
