God of War III complete, now in tuning process
God of War III just hit beta, according to Sony Santa Monica Studios’ Director of Development John Hight. A new interview from a Sony event in Soho reveals some new facts about the upcoming threequel.
“The entire game is complete,” Highton said, “we’re not adding anything to it. But we are tuning the game to make it more fun, taking out some of the rough edges, debugging it, making sure it doesn’t crash.”
We’ve all been playing the E3 2009 demo, which Highton says is from a midpoint in the game. Since that demo, the Santa Monica’s added a few “bells and whistles,” “little better lighting,” and a better-looking area.
“Sure [the final game will] look better [than the demo]. But I think it was a pretty amazing demo.”
As for the game’s current development status. “Our lives are pretty consumed with the tuning process,” Highton said. “We’ll be spilling out stuff probably every month leading up to our release in March.”
God of War III releases exclusively on PlayStation 3 in March 2010.
