Square Enix held a conference call earlier today discussing their Q2 financial reports, also released today. So far, the publisher’s had a fantastic year with the release of Dissidia: Final Fantasy for PSP internationally and Dragon Quest IX for Nintendo DS in Japan.
Square Enix has sold 12 million units this fiscal, however they expect to sell at least 26 million by the end of the fiscal year. The release of Final Fantasy XIII and Star Ocean: The Last Hope International will surely play a role in these sales.
Here comes the interesting part. Square Enix CEO Yoici Wada was asked about a Western release date for Final Fantasy XIII only to reply that everything regarding the Western release is going smoothly. He also mentioned it’s possible that the game will release before the end of the the fiscal year across the globe.
