During Electronic Arts’ Q2 conference call this morning, EA Games label president Frank Gibeau has revealed that a Criterion Games-developed Need for Speed will launch sometime in 2010. For those unaware, Criterion is the developer of the critically-acclaimed Burnout Paradise.
“In recent years, we failed to put adequate resources behind the franchise and, as a result, quality suffered,” Gibeau admitted. “Next year’s Need for Speed has been under development now for some time at our award-winning Criterion Studio.”
Sounds good. Let’s just hope it plays as good as Burnout.
