Nomura’s said in the latest Famitsu that information on Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be gradually revealed starting next year. We’ve already told you a bit of information he’s revealed, however, today we have quotes directly from the legendary director himself.
“We’ll gradually unveil it starting next year, at E3 if we’re quick enough,” Nomura told Famitsu.
The video shown at the Tokyo Game Show was only shown so we know that they’re working on the game, and because they wanted to have something to show. None of the citizen models or the cityscape from the clip will be used in the final game.
“The Venetian cityscape won’t be in the game. That wasn’t development stuff, but a technical demo reel of sorts. We hurriedly put together a video because we wanted people be assured that Versus is also still under development.”
Gameplay-wise, Final Fantasy Versus XIII will play like an improved Kingdom Hearts.
“It will fall close to that [Kingdom Hearts] category, but we’re aiming for a fusion of new features with the classic Final Fantasy style. We see level design as the most important part of development here, but it’ll be a while before we can show any of that.”
Final Fantasy Versus XIII still has no set release date. Expect it Christmas 2010 at earliest… for Japan.
Thanks, 1UP.
