Keiji Inafune, creator of Mega Man and producer of Dead Rising 2, expressed his feelings towards this year’s Tokyo Game Show with a rather negative statement.
“Personally when I looked around [at] all the different games at the TGS floor,” Capcom‘s Ben Judd translated Inafune, “I said ‘Man, Japan is over. We’re done. Our game industry is finished.'”
Immediately following the statement, he went on to praise Capcom and the “kick ass” games they’re bringing to the show.
The data proves Inafune correct. This year’s Tokyo Game Show is filled with western games, with only a few games representing the Japanese crowd. Many key Japanese developers are also missing from the floor, as well.
