Crackdown 2 info leaks from Game Informer
The latest Game Informer features an exclusive look on Crackdown 2. Thanks to early leaks, we’re able to gather all that information up for you right here.
Crackdown 2 starts off with the breakout of a virus after “Peace at Last” came to the city when The Agency took over. It all went to hell, it seems. After people found out, they rebelled and destroyed the agent program, almost putting them to rest. Now, The Agency is back and you need to reclaim your city once again.
The game will feature dynamic civilian events, meaning (for example) that a random guy can try to sell something during the day, end up marauded at night. The civilian cars have remained the same with minor changes such as reskinning and armed with better armor and weapons. Vehicles and trucks can mount turrents now. New vehicles such as the Agency helicopter will be available.
As for the city, it hasn’t changed much, besides some buildings being demolished. As you play through the game, the city will decay over time due to the infection. Depending on whether or not you’re doing a mission during the day or during the night has a huge impact on the mission; the freaks come out at night. One of the gangs mentioned in the game is named ‘The Cell’, composed of regular citizens who want to reclaim the city.
A four-player cooperative mode as well as a 16-player competitive multiplayer mode is available for play. This will allow players to gain special weapons, bonuses and equipment. It will feature a progression system similar to Call of Duty 4‘s.
The game’s visuals have gotten grittier and darker than before, but still keeps that same “cartoon”-like look from the first game.
As for weaponry, there are more variations this time around such as a new shotgun, rail-gun and sticky-grenades. A more precise targeting system is also in tact.
Thanks, GAF.
