Fallout 3 PS3 DLC Starts with ‘Broken Steel’ in September
Bethesda promised PlayStation 3 gamers an update on the Fallout 3 downloadable content this week and Ashley Cheng, Production Director at Bethesda Softworks, provided that update on the PlayStation.Blog today.
Five pieces of downloadable content will be coming to the PlayStation Network for Fallout 3 rangingn from ‘Operation: Anchorage’ to ‘Broken Steel’ to ‘Mothership Zeta’. Each piece of content will offer 4-6 hours of additional gameplay. Here’s a run through of the upcoming downloadable content.
- Operation: Anchorage (pictured above) — Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe – the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders.
- The Pitt (pictured below) — Journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh and choose sides in the battle between the slaves and the slavers.
- Broken Steel (pictured below) — Join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all. Continues the adventure past the main quest and raises the game’s level cap to 30.
- Point Lookout — Explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content.
- Mothership Zeta — The aliens have returned, and they’re pissed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you’re tough enough to survive.
Each will offer more weapons, creatures, armor, outfits, NPCs, and locations. Each piece of content will also add more trophies to the game for all you trophy lovers out there. Finally, you’ll be able to play each piece of content whenever you want in the game as long as you leave Vault 101 first (Broken Steel is the only exception).
As for a date, the first Fallout 3 downloadable content is coming in September. Right now now, Bethesda’s “are knee deep in testing at the moment” and reminds eager gamers to “Keep in mind that not only do we need to test each DLC on PS3, we also need to test each DLC when used in conjunction with each of the other DLC, as well as all of them together, along with the entire original game.”
The first released downloadable content is going to be ‘Broken Steel’, however, since it’s the most requested. ‘Broken Steel’ raises the game’s level cap to 30, includes 4-6 hours of new gameplay, but it requires you to finish the game’s main quest first.
All the other downloadable content will release in order after ‘Broken Steel’.
