Sony Launching Expanded PlayStation Network in Spring 2010

Sony CEO Howard Stringer has been talking about launching an expanded PlayStation Network for nearly two years. The broader PlayStation Network is spread across the PSP and PlayStation 3 to Sony TVs and electronics, and may just launch next year.
Fortune reports that Sony Computer Entertainment America boss Kaz Hirai said that the bigger PlayStation Network will launch next Spring. It’s a service said to make Sony devices “talk to each other efficiently,” making it easier to handle images, edit video and share content across Sony devices.
Fortune also reports that Sony has designs on making acquisitions that would “accelerate the effort,” but plans to “start small”, rolling out this expanded PlayStation Network over time.
