PlayStation 3 owners who feel like Bethesda has jipped them of extra content, feel jipped no more, as the previously exclusive Fallouto 3 downloadable content is exclusive no more. That’s right, ‘Operation: Anchorage’, ‘The Pitt’, and ‘Broken Steel’ are coming to the PlayStation 3. That’s not all, two new downloadable episodes are in the works for all three platforms.
Bethesda will be releasing ‘Operation: Anchorage’ on the PlayStation Network in late June, followed by the release of ‘The Pitt’ and ‘Broken Steel’ 4-6 weeks apart. Exact release dates will be revealed later on. In order to play the content on the PlayStation 3, Fallout 3 players will be prompted to download an update that will allow you to do so.
As for the two brand new downloadable episodes coming, they’ll be released across all three platforms.
‘Point Lookout’ will let players explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content. ‘Mothership Zeta’ brings the aliens back to Earth, and they’re pissed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you’re tough enough to survive.
The first, ‘Point Lookout’, will be released on Xbox 360 and PC in late June. It’ll come to the PlayStation Network after the first three DLCs are released. ‘Mothership Zeta’ is scheduled for late July on Xbox 360 and PC, and will reach the PlayStation Store after ‘Point Lookout’. Both DLCs will cost 800 Microsoft Points or $9.99 on the PlayStation Network.
Finally, Bethesda’s following the route they followed with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and releasing retail add-on packs and a ‘Game of the Year’ edition for the game.
Fallout 3 Game Add-on Pack #1 includes ‘Operation: Anchorage’ and ‘The Pitt’ and will release on May 26th for Xbox 360 and PC. Fallout 3 Game Add-on Pack #2 includes ‘Broken Steel’ and ‘Point Lookout’ and will be released in August for Xbox 360 and PC. The PlayStation 3 content can only be downloaded through the PlayStation Network.
Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition will release in October for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC and include all five add-ons for $60.
