Ubisoft‘s upcoming disaster title, I Am Alive, which takes place in Chicago when a big earthquake strikes the city, was in development at Darkworks studios. However, today Ubisoft Shanghai tells GamesIndustry.biz that Darkworks is no longer developing the title and the game is now under their wing in development.
“In order to respect the new launch date for this ambitious title, and Darkworks having other obligations, we have mutually decided to complete development of I Am Alive at Ubisoft Shanghai, as the two studios have collaborated on aspects of the title over the past year,” said Ubisoft in a statement.
“The team at Darkworks has respected its contractual obligations on the project and will be a part of the success of the game when it launches.”
Ubisoft Shanghai is known for the recently released Tom Clancy’s EndWar, and the not so recently released Xbox 360 version of Tom Clancy’s Double Agent.
