Mass Effect 2 Story to Feature Emotional Impacts
In an interview with 360 Magazine, BioWare CEO Ray Muzyka spoke about the emotional impact that he would like Mass Effect 2 to give players.
“At the end of the day we want people to feel something,†said Muzyka. “We want them to be emotionally compelled; choices have to have consequences that are emotionally impactful… Because they are choices with double edges it’s part of the emotional investment. The pay back you get is thinking ‘what if I had done that differently?’ Just like real life you make a decision and you have to live with it and because you have to live with it you feel that emotion.â€
The emotional impact the game will bring on certainly sounds interesting. Muzyka wouldn’t go any more indepth on the story, however, which is said to be darker than the story of the original Mass Effect.
As for speculation on Mass Effect 2 to release on the PlayStation 3 as well, BioWare said that they want to release the game to “as wide an audience as possible”. That’s your sign.
