Sega‘s upcoming movie-based shooter, Aliens: Colonial Marines, has been confirmed by Sega themselves to be releasing Q1 2009, shutting rumors of the game’s cancellation.
The rumors of the game being cancelled came after developer Gearbox Software‘s other FPS, Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway, received lower amount of sales than originally expected. However, an Aliens: Colonial Marines cancellation is not the case here.
Sega stated that their Q1 2009 could run from April to the end of June, so expect a release somwhere in between those months.
Sega was also able to confirm that the Obsidian-developed espionage RPG, Alpha Protocol, will also be releasing Q1 2009.
