Rumor: PS3 Update To Bring PS2 Backwards Compatibility?

French Gaming website JV247 reports that Sony Computer Entertainment shared some information regarding an upcoming PS2 Emulator for the PlayStation 3 with them.

Apparently, they were told that Sony would update the PlayStation 3’s firmware with the functionality to play PlayStation 2 games if they decided to sell PlayStation 2 games on the PlayStation Store.
