Epic Games China Announce Seattle-Based Titan Studios
Epic Games China have today announced the opening of a new Seattle-based studio, Titan Studios. The studio is formerly known as Darkstar Industries. Currently, the studio boasts the talents of senior developers with experience at companies including Ubisoft, Epic Games, Scion Studios, Blizzard Entertainment and Lionhead Studios.
“We are recruiting highly talented and hard working developers, and giving them the resources they need to be successful,†said Paul Meegan, chief executive officer of Epic Games China. “We believe in creating small, cohesive teams that leverage Unreal Engine 3, our production talent in Asia, as well as our Asian and Western design sensibilities and market awareness.â€
As of now, Fat Princess for the PlayStation Network and unannounced Unreal Engine 3 based projects are in development, including a massively multiplayer online game are the only games Titan has announced in development. With Fat Princess looking so good, I can’t wait to see what else Titan has up their sleeves.

SHANGHAI, China – November 11, 2008 – Epic Games China, Ltd. today announced the opening of Titan Studios, Inc., its wholly owned subsidiary based in Seattle, Wash. Titan Studios was formed to create original games that incorporate exceptional production values along with core technologies that extend the functionality of Epic Games’ award-winning Unreal Engine 3, and also to provide additional time zone support to partners using Epic Games China’s outsourcing services.

Titan Studios is home to a team of senior developers with experience at companies including Ubisoft, Epic Games, Scion Studios, Blizzard Entertainment and Lionhead Studios. The core of the team, previously operating as Darkstar Industries, began production on Sony’s acclaimed Fat Princess game prior to its unveiling this summer. Unannounced Unreal Engine 3 based projects are in development, including a massively multiplayer online game (MMOG).
