The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai Crazy Modes Detailed
Over at Ska Software’s development blog, they’ve updated us on the game modes for their upcoming Xbox LIVE Arcade XNA title, The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai.
First off, we have the Story Mode, which is usually a custom to all games. There will be 14 levels in the story mode with the three normal dificulties along with the Elite Samurai and Ranked difficulties. You can play guitar solos and complete time attack areas to earn Psycho Picks, upgrade your health, magic and weapons, and so on.
Then there is the Arcade game modes, which are shrot levels in one room arenas usually going by a particular theme. Arcade modes lock you in with a two-weapon loadout and a one Dish Magic technique. These are the game modes for the Arcade mode as described by Ska:
- Vampire. Your health is draining, but monsters give more health when killed.
- Bullet Time. All monsters move at half speed. I’ve fantasized about doing this in real life for years now.
- Aerials. Monster are only damaged while airborne. Learn those air combos!
- Instakill. Everything deals 4x damage, so baddies turn into red mist pretty quickly.
There is also a cooperative option for arcade, but it can get a bit crazy.
Finally, there is the Dish Challenge. It’s a wave after wave attack in order to compete for the high score. Dish Challenge is al about combos, the higher your combo is, the higher the points. Take a look below:
- Kills = 2x
- Hits = 0.25x
- Messy Kills = 5x
- Clean Kills = 5x
Your game multipier goes up for as long as you keep a combo going. You’ll know if the combo is still going by the little red progress bar under your combo count. When it runs out, the combo is over.
Ska Software’s Dishwasher really seems to be packing quality with the game modes. Now we must await the release.
