The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops III will not feature a single-player campaign, Activision and Treyarch announced.
Instead, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will feature “Multiplayer” and “Zombies” modes only.
According to Activision, the “ambitious scope of the 1-4 player co-op Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware.”
When the old generation versions were first announced, they were to feature the full campaign with the current generation’s four-player co-op cut down to two players.
The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops III will retail for $49.99. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, which contain the single-player campaign, will retail for $59.99.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III will launch on November 6.
