■ Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem unveiled
That Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem collaboration announced two years ago has finally been unveiled. Officially titled Illusory Revelations #FE and due out this winter in Japan (but still to be titled or dated in the west), the game is a clash of J-pop and color, and is set in a world where everyday life and fantasy secretly coexist.
■ Dragon Quest Heroes II announced for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita
Exactly five weeks after Dragon Quest Heroes launched for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan, Square Enix announced it’s making a sequel with an added PS Vita version. The logo is all we have for now. No further details were shared.
■ Fire Emblem If slated for 2016 release
The next Fire Emblem game for 3DS will launch in North America and Europe next year. Meanwhile, Japan is getting it in two versions this June, with each having different scenarios. A third scenario will follow as an additional purchase, and you can purchase the scenario you don’t get as DLC. There’s also a limited edition including both scenarios, plus the third when it releases. Much editions. Such value.
■ Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS adds Mewtwo this month, Lucas in June
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and for Nintendo 3DS will get its first character downloadable content later this month in the form of Mewtwo, with Lucas coming as a second character in June. Moreover, a community vote has been opened at the game’s website so fans can tell the staff directly who they want to see added next.
■ Final Fantasy XV might have guest female party characters
Final Fantasy XV‘s main party might be a bro-fest, but the director of the game teases that some female characters might temporarily join the party as you progress through the game. Perhaps we’ll see Stella and Luna yet.
■ April Fools’ Day 2015 compilation
We don’t do April Fools’ Day stories, but we do compile them from everywhere else. ■ Fatal Frame Wii U coming west later this year
Nintendo and Koei Tecmo are bringing the latest Fatal Frame game, which came out in Japan last September, to North America and Europe later this year. Horror fans rejoice!
■ 5pb. announces ANONYMOUS;CODE
The next adventure game from the creator of Steins;Gate is ANONYMOUS;CODE. It’s about a world within a world within a world within a world within a world.
■ Imageepoch CEO potentially missing
Idea Factory‘s boss-man hasn’t been able to reach Ryoei Mikage, the CEO of Imageepoch, with whom they have a Makai Shin Trillion advertising deal. This follows a string of rumors that the Stella Glow developer is facing financial troubles. The search for Mikage begins.
■ Stella Glow coming to North America this year
Despite Imageepoch’s head honcho nowhere to be seen, that didn’t stop Atlus from striking a publishing deal to bring Stella Glow, their upcoming 3DS simulation RPG, to North America later this year.
■ Mevius Final Fantasy name changed to Mobius Final Fantasy, 25 minutes of footage
Square Enix held its first live stream for Mevius Final Fantasy, now Mobius Final Fantasy (get it, because it’s mobile!), on April 2. On top of news that the protagonist’s Onion Swordsman class is now more covered up (his hot bod was too much for our eyes), there’s about 25 minutes of battle footage to watch.
■ Media Create Sales: 3/23/15 – 3/29/15
A gamepocalypse struck Japan on March 26. Bloodborne, Sword Art Online: Lost Song, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3, Theatrhythm Dragon Quest, and Disgaea 5 were just a few of the causes. Bloodborne did the most damage. See how the rest compared in this week’s sales charts.
■ Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains coming to 3DS eShop in May
Spike Chunsoft‘s Attack on Titan game adaption The Last Wings of Mankind is coming to the 3DS eShop via publisher Atlus, with a new English subtitle to boot. No retail release, unfortunately, but at least fans of fighting creepy colossi can enjoy the game in with Japanese dubs and English subtitles.
■ Gundam PS4 announcement coming soon
That Gundam game was announced for PlayStation 4 a while ago, and we still know little to nothing about it, but that’s about to change, according to the producer.
■ The Great Ace Attorney five-minute trailer
The Great Ace Attorney is coming to 3DS in Japan on July 9, and Capcom’s released our first extensive look at the game since the Tokyo Game Show in September. And it’s been subtitled in English, no less!
