Assassin's Creed: Rogue

Ubisoft has released the debut trailer and screenshots for Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11.

Here’s Ubisoft’s official outline:

Assassin’s Creed Rogue is being developed by Ubisoft Sofia, in collaboration with Ubisoft’s Singapore, Montreal, Quebec, Chengdu, Milan and Bucharest studios. Set in the middle of the 18th century during the Seven Years War, Assassin’s Creed Rogue gives players new locations across North America to explore, including the frozen North Atlantic, the Appalachian River Valley and New York. In Assassin’s Creed Rogue, players experience the Assassin’s Creed universe through the eyes of a Templar. As Shay Patrick Cormac, players suffer the brotherhood’s betrayal and transform into an Assassin hunter.

The acclaimed naval components from previous Assassin’s Creed games have been enhanced in Assassin’s Creed Rogue. The game also gives players new weapons to use on both land and sea in pursuit of taking down the Assassins, including a new ship called the Morrigan.

For more information on the last gen-exclusive Assassin’s Creed, pick up the September issue of Game Informer.

      • gulabjamal

        Thank you!! :D
My favorite character from my favorite RPG ever

        • Zeongundam

Off topic but I cant help but agree lol. BOF is one of my favorites. I’m actually in the middle of replaying all of the ones I have.

        • Bobby Jennings

Wish they would re-release it on the PSN store but eh Capcom sucks.

  • Bobby Jennings

    Wii-U got shafted again, lol

  • Anime10121

I’ll never understand publishers pulling trailers and then releasing them “officially” a couple hours later :/ …

On topic of Assassins Creed though, I have to wonder why this series is so successful each year when I’ve heard that the story has went completely off course from where it started and the gameplay’s not really all THAT great (at least to me it wasnt, I tried III, and while better than the first and the “first” second game, it still wasnt 10 million sold worth of good to me)…

The series was already a yearly escapade, and now they’re bringing out two in the span of a month? But hey, I aint gonna shake no salt on Ubi when they’ve struck gold! Good deal for them either way!

    • ShadowFang

I believe the two this year is just because of the “console transition”. Putting their main team on the next gen/current gen version while this other team handles the current/last gen version that they still want to make because of the massive PS3/360 install base.

I wouldn’t expect two-a-year going forward personally. But who knows? Maybe it pays off and they’ll end up Guitar Hero’ing this series up? Man, I hope not…

      • Anime10121

Yeah, I’m expecting this to be a “this year only” gig as well, but if both do extremely well….well lets just say we may see this happen at least another year ;P

But on Guitar Hero, that didnt last NEARLY as long as this franchise has (though admittedly, Assass’s creed has more effort put in)…

    • MrFinalgamer

I’ve yet to play III, but I doubt it’s better than AC2. Nothing beats AC2…

      • Hidayat246

AC 3 actually great if ubisoft not change the UI or stealth system to more worse rather than AC 1 & 2

AC 4 have nice UI but naval gameplay is not what i wanted also the story is……………….. meh

AC unity have potential. Really promising just from gameplay, for the story……….. i give up

  • ShadowFang

    meh, pre-rendered trailer. Phooey.

That being said, I still expect this to be good. Ubi Soft’s “B Teams” usually do great work, albeit, no one seems to notice much. When Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands came out, they handed the Wii SKU of the game over to Ubi Soft Quebec (not Montreal), and they had free license to say, “SCREW THE MOVIE AND THE HD VERSIONS!”.

They ended up making a direct follow up to Sands of Time (you could even unlock that games’ model early on and play through the whole adventure like it), pushing hard into the storybook-ish ‘Arabian Nights’ fantasy that makes POP great, did some smart control stuff (borrowed from the 2008 PS3 game), and implemented a bunch of magic abilities tied to smart use of the Wii pointer. It was an absolutely fantastic game and far better than it’s by-the-numbers HD counterpart.

So the main team working on this one – Ubi Soft Sofia? In Bulgaria? Hopefully they’ll be able to just worry about doing what they want to with AC and not having to pay attention to whatever messy story-hooks the other games concern themselves with. I mean, Frozen North Atlantic and New York as locations? And focusing on the naval combat? This could be a much fresher experience than it probably has any right to be.

I really miss Prince of Persia though. Assassin’s Creed is just sitting on the throne while it’s away, as far as I’m concerned. But AC keeps bankrolling titles like Child of Light and Beyond Good & Evil 2, so I’m not gonna complain.

  • Cry_Zero

I really hope theres no collectors edition. I dont want to buy 2 every year now :/ i already pre ordered the figured one of unity, but if theres another one… Guess i have to get them both

  • SegaSaturnSNK

It’s going to come out for current gen as a downloadable I bet like the AC Vita version and so on. I’ll wait for that but I’m sure it’s more of the same. More excited for Unity.

    • Zackasaur

If it ended up downloadable on PS4, I’d go back for the PS3 physical version.

For now, I have AC Unity pre-ordered and will hope that AC Rogue gets a PS4 upgrade later.

  • Infinity

I do not have high hopes for this guy survival rate at the end of this game.

  • Blaz

1 year later, Assassins Creed Rouge REMASTERED!

    • Budgiecat

but it’s the Definitive version! For all the people that didn’t buy a PS3 or 360!

      still waiting for Pong Remastered….

  • $1392518

AC4’s framerate in havana on ps3 is the biggest reason I switched over to PS4, so unless this one is smooth as butter, I’ll skip or wait till PC few months later

  • Budgiecat

Another year, another Assassin’s Creed game.

Meanwhile FF XV and Last Guardian are no where to be seen

    thanks Obama

    • Invisbin

Both games better be 10/10 on reviews.

  • Mr. Uncensored 2015

So what’s the point of this game? Why are we killing Assassins? And for what reasons? Ubisoft is just milking now. Should be called Ubisoft’s Greed: Rogue.

    • Cry_Zero

Because the templars are the assassins enemies? What a dumb question

      • Mr. Uncensored 2015

“Why are we killing Assassins?” as in why are we playing as a Templar when the name of the franchise is “Assassin’s” Creed? Dumb***

        • Cry_Zero

That my moronic friend, is something only the story of the game will tell you. That guy was an assassin, maybe thats why, or maybe he’s a double agent or something like that so before hating on this you should play it first

          • KOKAYI5

Insulting someone doesn’t help them understand their mistake.

            • Cry_Zero

Since hes not 4 years old im pretty sure that moronic and dumb question dont hurt his feelings :)

              • KOKAYI5

But don’t you want to avoid some long drawn out argument full of name calling?

                • Cry_Zero

Ur right but hell we aint children(i think) theres no need to fight about things like this and i just said its a dumb question so no need to get angry

                  • KOKAYI5

My bad. It was none of my business. I shouldn’t have gotten in the middle of it.

                    • Cry_Zero

Its ok cause ur right ;)

        • Dick Mountainjoy

Why not? It’s an open world game, why not be the bad guy?

After everything the Templars have done unless this guy is completely against them I wouldn’t want to play as him. I hope he’s a character who finally sees that the Templars are mostly selfish and power-mad. Not another “they’re not so bad” kinda character.

EDIT: THis must be the game for people with X1 or PS4. An AC with both Unity and Black Flag style of gameplay.

    • Hentailover

Erm, both sides of the battle are kinda not great, when you really think about. There are people among templars genuinely believing in their cause just as there are horrible people among assassins. Exploring the other side and ideology they have is a good thing. Black evil villains and perfect goody two shoes good guys is a sign of bad simplistic writing.

      • KOKAYI5

I know I’ve play at least 5 of the games. Its not so black and white. But with the templars have way more power the assassins, so the assassins are the underdogs. So why play as the winning side?

  • Hentailover

Naval stuff again? I liked black flag, but I also had enough of it -_-

    • KOKAYI5

Yeah they should do a Zeppelin one. Aireal battles!

  • Zero

Looks kinda like Haytham Kenyway via the in game screenshots. I’m not surprised at all though. I pretty much expected this announcement back at e3 to be honest.

  • Roger

AC4 is the only AC that attracted me in years, thanks to the naval gameplay. Might give a try on this one, too.

Not interested. The templars are far worse than assassins. Just because someone betrayed me I wouldn’t join my enemy. Would a jewish person join nazis just because some jewish people were cruel to him?

  • carrebeannut

this rogue looks like templar skeleton hanging in iguana mansion AC4.
