'We will shed more light during E3,' says managing director.

CD Projekt RED won’t say whether its upcoming RPG sequel The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will come to Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox One.

When asked if it will come to the system, studio managing director Adam Badowski told GameSpot, “We will shed more light on [The Witcher 3] during E3. I’m sorry but I can’t give you any details right now.”

When it confirmed the PlayStation 4 version, CD Projekt RED said the game would also release on PC and “all high-end platforms available.” So there’s definitely a third platform there.

Our guess? Perhaps CD Projekt RED is planning an official reveal for Microsoft’s E3 press conference with a demo and Xbox One-exclusive content.

    Xbox-one exclusive content?
    CD Projekt RED?

Wouldn’t that pretty much go against a lot of their efforts of being gamer-focused? So far, judging by their previous games, I don’t see this happening.

it’s of course perfectly possible, but it would strike me as odd.

It would be incredibly odd, in my eyes at least, if this game isn’t coming to the X1.

    • Raiyu

It would be, considering Witcher 2 is a 360 game. And then for them to turn around and not release it for its sucessor.

      • Sevyne

It would be kind of odd, but it wouldn’t be the first time a dev moved a franchise over to the competitor exclusively. Pretty sure it’ll be on Xbox one anyway though.

Maybe RED doesn’t like Xbox One business model and DRM? That’s the only reason I can think of.

    • Raiyu

Thinking about it, CD Projekt is very anti-DRM if Witcher 2 is anything to go by.

Everything the producers say they can’t comment about *is* coming to the Xbox One. Both Capcom and CD Projekt are acting coy, but I’m positive that The Witcher 3 and Deep Down will be announced (and maybe even shown running) on the new console.

Xbox one exclusive content? More like timed exclusive to me….

  • bldudas

I don’t know. CD Projekt Red does not like DRM, and the Xbox One is a DRM machine.

And it’s very unlike them to put exclusive content on something.

  • PrinceHeir

    yeah they’re very anti-drm (GOG)

I feel like some of these developers already put their eggs in Microsoft’s basket so even if they don’t the practices behind the Xbone, they aren’t in a position to change or may not even want to consider the alternatives.
Of course, they said Witcher 3 was coming to “all high-end platforms.” Which brings me to my question…now that the specs for the Xbone are out, is it considered high-end?

Be silly if it doesn’t come to the One. Be interested to see what they can get out of the more powerful PS4 gpu though

Be silly if they don’t support the One. Though more interested to see what they get out of the more powerful Ps4 gpu

Xbone goes against everything CDPR stands for regarding DRM and customer relations. It wouldn’t surprise me if they flip MS the bird and sit this one out. They already have one of the most successfull digital distribution sites out there in GOG, they don’t really need the ‘One’.

I hope it comes out for x1 cuz I’m not buying a ps4 or a good pc.

  • avi

Maybe they’re just waiting until e3 to show it off on the x1..
