Rumor: Internet Explorer coming to Xbox 360
Complete with Kinect gestures and voice control.Microsoft is bringing Internet Explorer to Xbox 360. According to The Verge sources, the new browser will allow Xbox 360 owners to browse the net straight from their console using either a controller or Kinect gestures and voice control.
Bing, which is already integrated into the dashboard, will be updated to search the web, as well. Currently, the search engine supports only Xbox LIVE Marketplace content.
With Microsoft’s E3 showcase said to be heavily focused on services, we’ll probably see this at E3 next month.
On Tuesday, The Verge sources also hinted at Kinect Play Fit, a new workout tracking application, and last month at Woodstock, a new music service for the platform. It is likely we’ll see these both at E3, as well.
The site’s Microsoft sources have proven correct just this week when they successfully reported on the new $99 Xbox 360 days before its announcement.
