Hulu Plus requires PlayStation Plus
by [@salromano] at 10:44 AM EDT, June 30, 2010 .

The yesterday-announced Hulu Plus service bringing your favorite shows and seasons to your TV in high-definition will be hitting PlayStation 3 in July. However, new information unearthed today may hold buyers who refuse to subscribe to Sony’s PlayStation Plus service back from subscribing to the Hulu service.

According to those who’ve been invited to try out the service beforehand, PlayStation Plus is required to use the Hulu service.

A reader image sent into to Kotaku from someone who’s gotten into the preview reads a message that clearly states: “You must be a subscriber of the PlayStation Plus Network.”

I’m still considering subscribing to Hulu Plus, although I’ve yet to subscribe to PlayStation Plus. We’ll see where my wallet guides me.

Let’s just hope this isn’t a sign of things to come with Sony offering services like this only for PSN+ subscribers.

I’m not all that jazzed about Hulu at $10 a month and still have to deal with ads. Although Netflix doesn’t have up-to-the-minute TV shows it’s a much better deal for $8 a month since you get movies instantly as well as DVD’s and Blu-ray movies in the mail.
