The New Xbox One Experience—the new Xbox One user interface—and Xbox 360 backwards compatibility will launch on November 12, Microsoft announced.

The update includes a revamped system user interface, a more social Community section, an optimized online store, and access to popular features “up to 50 percent faster.”

Xbox 360 compatibility will not be universal. Confirmed games include the Gears of War series, Mass Effect, the Viva Pinata series, and others. Microsoft has yet to release a full list of compatible launch titles.
