Gematsu adds another community moderator

First you build the team.

Mod-Announce_06-2015

Hello, everyone. Zero here once again to make another exciting announcement.

Before I begin. I’d like to ask everyone read our updated community guidelines.
Remember, while our guidelines are not laws, we ask that you please respect them before commenting.

I’d also like to quickly mention that we have taken a new approach to those who decide they would like to be banned. We are issuing temporary ban’s followed by more permanent ban’s for repeat offenders. If you have been banned and would like to discuss it, you can reach me via zero at gematsu dot com.

In our last community update I talked about an ongoing plan to help improve our comments. While our comments are important, I’m always trying to improve the overall community. When I signed on to be a moderator back in 2012, I didn’t sign up for the task alone. Things didn’t go as planned, but I decided to carry on.

I’ve spent the past few years doing my best to make posting comments and reading comments here enjoyable. I had a goal from the start.

“Let’s all work together to make the Gematsu community even better!”

That statement still represents how I feel today. With that said, I knew then I couldn’t do all of this alone.

I think looking back at the past can be really interesting. Even when we remember mistakes or times we failed, we sometimes also find bits of knowledge, or things we simply forgot about.

I went back to the past for some inspiration in regards to our community.

It reminded me that we were supposed to have a team, things kinda clicked into place and we added Pekola last month. Then I thought to myself, why stop there?

One of our older members, Pyrofrost, who has been assiting me from the shadows for years, was an easy pick for our next community moderator. I reached out and told him It’s time to step out of the shadows and join the team.

Without further ado, I’d like to introduce Pyrofrost as our newest member of the community team. Together with Pekola and myself, I feel like our community team has never been stronger.

I’m excited for the future, we now have a stong team and an established community. I can’t wait to see where we go next.

Pyrofrost

Hello, hello Gematsu! It’s a pleasure to join the team and lighten the load carried by Sal, Zero, and Pekola even if only by a little. I hope we get along!

Let’s all give Pyrofrost a warm welcome in the comments below.
