Character Profiles

Kirika Towa Alma
Class: Song Maiden
Weapon: Dragon Wing Bow Kotonoha
Main Magic: Sacred Magic

“My apologies, but I have no interest in humans. I only want to learn more about the heart of dragons.”

As the main heroine for Shining Resonance, Kirika is gifted with special powers as an elven song maiden who inherited the “Holy Song of Seals,” an ancient song that can manipulate the spiritual power within nature. The owner of of the Dragon Wing Bow Kotonoha, one of the legendary Dragon Instruments that takes its form as a harp, her combat prowess as a Dragon Player isn’t particularly noteworthy, instead being primarily a healer first and foremost. Her position as a Song Maiden led to people treating her delicately as she was growing up, resulting in her having led a sheltered life. As a result, she’s not the best at talking with other people, which tends to give off the impression she’s a little cold when she’s in actuality a nice person deep down. She greatly enjoys singing.

Agnam Brethart
Class: Mage
Weapon: Dragon Flame Wand Igryut
Main Magic: Explosive Fire

“You just sit back and enjoy this explosive tune I’ve got in store for you during these last few moments of your life!”

With a personality as hot as the fire he can control at will, Agnam is another Dragon Player with a Dragon Instrument of his own, namely the guitar-shaped Dragon Flame Wand Igryut. As a magician who knows his way around sound, when he’s around, battlefields turn into concert halls, thanks in no small part to his practically incendiary aural stylings. In spite of his mischievous demeanor as a man who enjoys gallivanting around the world as a vagabond, he nonetheless is considerate and goes out of his way to care for others. While his appearance and hot-blooded nature might lead some to believe otherwise, he’s not to be taken lightly as a Dragon Player. Additionally, in terms of combat capability, in addition to being highly competent at magic, he’s not afraid to get up close and personal and is all too happy to be on the front lines of a fight.

Sonia Blanche
Class: Magic Knight
Weapon: Sword and Shield
Main Magic: Lightning

“You’re worrying too much. Just come along with me. There are people out there that really need your powers, you know.”

Sonia takes up the mantle of being the female protagonist in Shining Resonance, functioning as the party leader. Working to help get the Kingdom of Astoria back on its feet, she has a number of people under her command as she fights against the empire. A determined woman with a masculine streak to her personality, she knows her way around a sword and has earned the nickname “Lightning Princess,” a name that strikes fear in others and is as much a reference to her personality as it is her ability to take action with extreme swiftness. The game’s storyline begins with her and her troops raiding an imperial research facility and rescuing Kouryuu Irvan, a legendary dragon held captive, who is then placed under her protection from that point onward. While the imperial family has a Dragon Instrument of its own that’s been passed on from generation to generation, she still can’t confidently wield it as of yet.

Georg Zalbard
“People don’t get to pick their gods. It is the gods who pick their people. As the living word of the gods, I’ll show you what fate has in store for you with this blade!”

The leader of Beowulf, a special squad under the control of the Church of Slain Dragons in the Lonbardia Empire, Georg is a dog of the church feared by all who is in command of the most elite imperial battalion. With even the eyes of the rest of the Empire’s military on him and his sketchy band of soldiers, he takes up command of the front lines under the orders of the imperial princess.

The Drag Machina

The Drag Machina are a group of legendary dragons that have been forcibly brought back to life as a result of imperial research. Consisting of the Lightning Halbred Gungnir, the Red Lotus Spear Trishula, and the Ice Spear Gae Bulg, the Drag Machina are named after legendary weapons and serve the empire as Dragon Knights.
