Plus, details on the battle system's burst and chain system.

Atelier Escha & Logy

This week’s issue of Dengeki brings with it new details on Gust’s upcoming Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea, showcasing an old face joining the cast, and some outright new characters and gameplay systems being added.

Read on below for the summary.

Characters

  • Solle Grumman (voiced by Daisuke Matsubara) – 26 years-old. Having originally appeared in Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dark Sky, Solle is sent out in this installment to set up a subdivision in Strard, as one doesn’t already exist.
  • Jurie Crotze (voiced by Kanae Ito) – 20 year-old treasure hunter. A lively girl with a surprising love for books despite her outward appearance, Jurie longs to pay off her debts and live happily with her younger sister. She dual wields knives in battle.
  • Miruca Crotze (voiced by Rina Hidaka) – 16 years-old. A young alchemist in training who’s spent time studying in The Center, Miruca is Jurie’s younger sister and a friend of Shallotte’s dating back to childhood. She ended up becoming a little distant from her sister while she was away at The Center, but they both treasure each other dearly. She uses a pile bunker in battle.

Battle System

Battles are conducted with six-character parties. By performing attacks, assists, and skills, a Burst gauge builds up, with bursts being triggered once the gauge reaches 100 percent. While in a Burst state, you can build up a chain, with the effects received from the chain (for example, increased attack power) varying based on how high it goes.

The second and third characters that perform linked attacks also get boosts to their effects, as well as have altered lines. Similarly, special skills can also be performed while bursts are activated, with the voice acting for the final blow also being different.

Additionally, Bursts that fulfill certain conditions can exceed 100 percent, triggerring what’s known as a “Field Burst,” which produce effects that influence everyone on the battlefield, such as making every attack a critical hit. The specifics of what happens during Field Bursts depend on the character that triggers it.
