After a Game Informer leak, developer Respawn Entertainment has confirmed first-person shooter Titanfall is coming to the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC next year.
A multiplayer-centric first-person shooter set for release next spring, Titanfall tells of the conflict between the pilots of Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation and the Militia.
Titanfall’s gameplay revolves around the conflict between man and machine, with players able to change between controlling a Pilot – a fast and maneuverable jet pack solider – or a Titan, a slow, large militarized mech.
“In addition to infusing the multiplayer experience with cinematic flavor,” said the game’s director, Steve Fukuda, “We’ve been rethinking fundamental combat and movement in the genre.
“Titanfall is unique in the way that it places equal emphasis on two drastically different and new ways to move and fight in a first-person shooter. The intersection of the two is a big part of what give Titanfall its iconic identity.”
Respawn Entertainment was founded by Jason West – since retried – and Vince Zampella of Infinity Ward fame.
