Ubisoft planning new Assassin's Creed game for Vita?

Spanish retailer XtraLife has listed something (now removed) called Assassin’s Creed: Phoenix Rising for PS Vita.

Questioned by Eurogamer if the listing was real, Ubisoft issued a “no comment.”

While it was up, the game was listed for an October 10 release, three weeks before the debut of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag on consoles.

The above image also surfaced. A few weeks prior, the below image appeared online:

Thanks for the tip, Roland.

Lol, do not duplicate or distribute.

    Too bad Ubi… :P

  • Kickersu18

My Vita is ready for this! I like Liberation but i hope this time they release the game without bugs…

    • Elvick

Tell me one open world game with NO bugs at all.

Good luck on your quest for something that will never exist.

“large” issues? Sure they should try to avoid those, but you’re always going to have some problems in any game with open world aspects.

  • Solomon_Kano

Ooh. I wonder if this’ll be a companion piece like Liberation or if it’ll be its own thing? I’d be good for either one.

  • Cry_Zero

I hope that this really is a new vita game. But i hope itll be better than liberation…. they should take the time to make it as great as the console versions

  • 新阿修羅(ShinAsura)

Ok so this is a blockbuster title for the US and European crowd. In order to help it’s success a price drop is needed

    must..resist…to not… make…a Tales joke

  • I hope it’s a standalone game. After Liberation the Sofia team hopefully gained enough experience and criticism to create a stellar fully-fledged standalone AC game on Vita. Can’t wait for the official announcement.

I also believe in them from what I’ve seen, I’m just glad to see some sort of hope for more. Assuming this is real, well done Ubisoft. Now to see if Ken Levine will pickup Bioshock =o

      • Ubi are awesome in supporting new hardware. Heck, all of UBI’s WiiU games are better than any of the rest, including Nintendo’s own launch titles.
Levine stated already that it’s up to the suits at 2K and Sony to make that happen. Unless Sony pony over the dough I can’t see 2K green-lighting the project. After Infinite ships it’s a different matter, however. Here’s hoping something happens soon.

If I was Sony, I’d spend the money but on condition that I (Sony) would be getting multiple titles. We’ll market it and all that jazz, showing how we’ve got good western talent making Vita games, cause it’s in our benefit. That might help some others come through but only for marketing costs and it’s not going to be an arm and a leg affair, otherwise 2K can forget it. But that’s my armchair assessment. Meanwhile, do continue to give Ubisoft money, I’m quite okay with this and I’m sure it pushed the Vitas just fine.

I thoroughly enjoyed AC3:L and will likely end up enjoying this too. Ubisoft, please bring more franchises to Vita. I still haven’t forgotten Ghost Recon: Final Mission. Rayman Legends would be great and a HawX game while you’re at it too.

    • Elvick

I want Ghost Recon on Vita so bad.

    • Solomon_Kano

A Vita Splinter Cell would be pretty kickass too.

  • Renzouri

These days, most Vita news articles are good news~

  • Learii

is Assassin creed IV Rising Phoenix lol

    • KingNigma

      lol wut?

  • Yes, please. I’ll get this right away.

  • Mar Mar

Rising Phoenix ……. I expect an Assassin somewhere in Asia.

  • DrForbidden

Ooooh. Wonder who it will star this time…

The ‘Rising Phoenix’ title doesn’t really fit a Creole setting, and that art there shows a lot of Abstergo symbols.

  • PrinceHeir

i wonder if it will feature Desmond again?

    • Solomon_Kano

Probably not, if they follow the format they used for Liberation.

  • tubers

    or…. an iPhone game!
