Quality looks almost like Ragnarok Odyssey.

    • Raiyu

I think that Ragnarok Odyssey and Ys use the same kind of engine, which might explain it.

    • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

Ragnarok Odyssey looks like a PSP game compared to this, which makes sense as it is a PSP game uprezzed to Vita’s native screen resolution.
The 3D engine of Sen no Kiseki looks vastly superior to the mediocre graphics offered by RO ;)

This is closer to GE2 in terms of visuals that RO. I thought you were joking when I read your comment ^^

  • Dean Winchester

    Dear Xseed. Please.

    That is all.

    • Pyrofrost

Unfortunately, the way things are looking, we won’t get this. Importing is really the only option.

With the little resources and the amount of time XSeed is spending on Sora no Kiseki SC, we will be lucky if we see Sora no Kiseki 3rd. Then there is also Zero no Kiseki and Ao no Kiseki; and skipping them isn’t exactly an option.

      • KurisuMakise

As they say, never say never. Though I suspect if we’re to ever hope for this to go through, they’ll need to buddy up with someone else to do the translations and co-release, for alone it probably won’t happen.

        • Pyrofrost

          Anything could happen :P
I would love if all of them got localized, it’s just looking very bleak right now.

Aside from the size of the game, it’s low on XSeed’s agenda because people didn’t support the first one. I honestly think they are only still working on SC because they announced the whole Sora no Kiseki trilogy all at once; all the while, not realizing what they were getting themselves into.

I either expect them to cancel after SC or finish the trilogy, then never touch Legend of Heroes again. Well, unless the sales of SC and 3rd justifies them continuing forward and putting it to the top of their “to do” list.

          • KurisuMakise

Indeed but I hear that the digital sales for the first haven’t been too bad. Perhaps by finishing the trilogy over PSN and with the PS3 Remasters (oh and PC too when available), they might see a nice stream of money and we won’t have to wait 5 years for Sen no Kiseki T_T /wishful thinking.

            • Pyrofrost

They would likely be able to apply the English PSP text from the trilogy to the HD remasters on PS3 and even possible Steam versions.

I’m guessing what they will do with SC and 3rd is stick them on PSN and have them playable on Vita. Following that, see how the sales will pan out.

Here is something for a bit more prospective as far as size goes, I don’t know if you’ve seen it. In this it states that Zero no Kiseki has even more Japanese characters than SC.
One would guess that Ao no Kiseki, and looking further, Sen no Kiseki, will have even more Japanese characters.
It is estimated that the first five Kiseki games (not counting Sen) will contain more text that books 1-12 of the “Wheel of Time,” as noted in the pic below.

              • KurisuMakise

That’s just…I…wow -cries for XSEED’s interns- I’ve seen the book size part but the comparison to Wheel of Time, that just sealed the despair a bit.

                • Pyrofrost

Well, what we know about XSeed based on their history is this…if fans show sufficient support for projects, they will continue to come.
What we need to do as fans, is show support for their work (buy it). They have been faithful in keeping Ys going for us because of the support. I know they will do the same if we actually support Kiseki. With sufficient support from fans, it will likely get priority status in translation, which means the work will move quicker…and if they do them all, it won’t be 2023 before we get Sen no Kiseki :p

                  • KurisuMakise

I’ll uh do my part then for real D=

    • TyeTheCzar

Tell ’em with your wallets: Get more folks to purchase Trails in the Sky on PSP/ Vita and they just might make the sequels a reality.

  • Mar Mar

    Alpha build probably.

Hehe I thought Character portrait were gone with 3D but the forth picture shows one.

  • Waka The Baka

XSeed will deliver. ( ・ω・) I just know it.

  • PrinceHeir

someone should really fund Xseed :(

    come on why not kickstarter??

  • Eclipse

    Looks incredible~!
And I’m really loving those character designs.

  • I wanna play this. I surely hope there’ll be a Demo on the Japanese SEN when possible. I have an American & Japanese PSN account. I do import Games as well.

  • Elvick

    All my want.

  • talesoffan

This has to be announced for the west. If xseed won’t do it then they should give it to someone else to localize. A PS3 and Vita version would up the sales. I for one would buy both.

    • Tiosuke

This is the sixth game in a franchise that prides itself on a
continuous narrative. You can’t play SC without FC, you can’t fully
understand Zero without playing The 3rd and you can’t play Ao and have
the first clue what’s going on without playing all four previous games.
The plot of Sen is something they’ve been building up to for five games
now (English reports on the franchise tend not to be written by people
familiar with the series in Japanese so don’t trust anything that claims the game will be set during the Hundred Days War) and will make precisely no sense
if you try to play it out of order. I’d love to see Sen released in
English but it’s just not going to happen for many many years, if at
