Enabled through system software update version 2.0.

Sony will launch PlayStation Plus for PlayStation Vita on November 19 as part of the system’s newly announced 2.00 software update.

PlayStation Plus for PlayStation Vita will kick off with an “Instant Game Collection” (free games) including Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, WipEout 2048, Jet Set Radio, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions (PSP), and Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack!!!. These games can be accessed after the November 20 weekly PlayStation Store update. With PlayStation Plus, your PS Vita can also access online storage for game saves, automatic updates, and Trophy synching.

In addition to PlayStation Plus, the 2.0 system software update will add an e-mail app, wireless transfers between your PS Vita and PC, and web browser enhancements. Watch a demonstration video below.

  • Sweet jesus hat is an amazing update. Kinda sucks that Vita & PS3 plus aren’t joint. Who wants to pay for plus on both?

    • They are joint.

    • Actually they are joint, if you already have PS Plus for your PS3, you can have it for the Vita as well free of charge. The same thing works the other way around.

  • I’m really glad I bought PS Plus a few months ago. Definitely worth the money and now that PS Vita will be added it just gets better. To anyone who has been putting off or not sure about PS Plus, it’s totally worth it. Hurry up Nov 20th!

  • PS Blog said in a video a while back that when you buy PS Plus you will get it on PS3 and Vita.

  • This is pretty awesome. I really need to get a Vita now, I already have Plus so this would be great for me.

That’s why I love Sony and why I will always remain a loyal and content PS-gamer. No need to double dip for the NA versions of my Japanese Vita game imports either, as Sony are giving them away for free. That sub ain’t gonna ever expire.
