Rumor: Thief 4 sneaks onto next-gen consoles

Stealth game may see the light of day in 2013.

Thief 4 development is being moved to next-generation consoles, according to the Official Xbox Magazine.

If true, the change could mean the game is released late next year, around the same time as the much-rumored next-generation Xbox, known as ‘Durango’.

CVG has said its sources have testified to the legitimacy of the rumor.

Announced in 2009, the thief sneak ’em-up went into hiding to emerge as a 30 second clip, which was leaked earlier this year. This would suggest that the game has been in development for approximately four years.

In development at Eidos Montreal, the studio behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the game’s last level has been completed, if the LinkedIn profile of designer Fabien Morisson is to be believed.
