Tag and improved Practice modes announced.

Tecmo Koei has revealed new characters and a Tag Mode for Dead or Alive 5.

Tina and Jann Lee make their return in the upcoming fighter sequel, sporting new designs and techniques. Find their character descriptions below.

Tina, also known as “The Superstar”, is the daughter of legendary wrestler Bass. Trained by her father from a young age, Tina possesses an amazing level of technical skill at wrestling, easy tying up opponents with a combination of arm and leg locks and powerful throws. Despite her father’s wishes for her to carry on the family wrestling tradition, Tina has joined the Dead or Alive Tournament with a pursuit of superstardom on a whole new level!

Jann Lee, also known as “A Scorching Soul”, is a self-taught master of Jeet Kune Do, who seeks the thrill of battle whenever he can. By watching martial-arts movies as a young orphan, he taught himself the deadly fast kicks and sudden, hard hitting jabs that make Jann Lee the very confident, perhaps even cocky, fighter he is today. Jann Lee enters the Dead or Alive Tournaments with the lone goal of becoming the greatest fighter of all time, while simultaneously trying to avoid the obsession of Lei Fang, who has been chasing him ever since he saved her from a street gang as a young girl.

In Tag Mode, players face off in two-on-two battles in a wrestling stage called “Fighting Entertainment!” The arena is surrounding by cheering fans, and an electrified ring which players must avoid, less they want to be zapped, instantly stunning their character and leaving them open to tag team combos.

Also detailed is the game’s improved Traning Mode, which offers players more options for adjusting the AI opponent’s behavior, such as “input recording” and “recovery time from staggers.” Optional missions teaching playres “everything from basic controls to advanced fighting techniques” during Story Mode battles will also allow players to further strengthen their skills.

This game looks FANTASTIC! I love tag in DOA and am glad to see its return. The new guy in the game (forgot his name) looks better in this trailer than he did in his release trailer. I do however hope that there is more than just that electrified ring stage for tag though, as I hate having to be limited to just that one stage.

Day one for me, I just wish that Gamestop and Amazon would switch their preorder costumes, or Amazon got the collectors edition :(

Just a heads up Sal, Tina was confirmed a while back (ever since E3 I believe). However, if you look closely, you may recognise La Mariposa as a returning character.
