PlayStation Network accounts will soon be no more (don’t get scared!). Sony announced today that all PlayStation Network accounts will be known as Sony Entertainment Network accounts starting February 8, trading the PSN acronym for SEN. It’s all part of Sony’s plan to extend their network to more devices.
“This transition is based on Sony’s goal to enhance its unique digital entertainment offering. As a series of these activities Sony started last September, PlayStation Network will be aligned with Sony Entertainment Network,” said Sony in an email to PlayStation Network subscribers.
“This helps us get closer to our goal of establishing a global comprehensive network platform of services across games, movies, music and more, all accessible from one convenient account.”
A PlayStation 3 and PS Vita update will mark the transition. At this time, the update will not be applied to PSP.
