Final Fantasy sequel scores well.

The review embargo for Final Fantasy XIII-2 lifted today at 4pm ET, and while we’re still playing through our copy (I received my copy Wednesday; I’m about 8 hours in), here’s what the rest of the gaming press thought about the Final Fantasy sequel.

looks great. though there is a website in there that’s not like others…(playstation lifestyle) hm….

I can’t wait for this game to be released, so S.E. can begin the media blowout on Versus XIII.

    • @zerolegacy0: Oh maybe SE prepares blowout on ffxiii-3! It would be awesome, don’t you think so? Versus can wait more.

So that is somewhat like an average of an 8. Seems good.
But I was already planning on buying it, because I really enjoyed FFXIII.

I loved Final Fantasy XIII and enjoyed FFX-2 so I have the CE of this already reserved. Anxious to pick it up on Tuesday and play it after work.

  • I started to think that this will be one of the most underrated games in 2012, despite it’s improvements from the first game. Nevertheless, I am sure as hell will be getting this game day one.

Agh, can’t wait till I get my copy sent to me :D Crystal Edition ftw!

  • No excuse now Square-Enix….it’s time for full development process for Versus XIII!!!

The demo for FFXIII-2 was really good. Best demo I’ve played in a while.

  • one more thing socket 8/10..i wonder why ?!

    ROFL, Playstation Lifestyle o-o

today > play demo & defeat the final boss again….tomorrow > let it marinate… after > be late on the job!

That seems lower than FF13 got, which is all kind of bad if you didn’t like FF13. Especially considering most of these site use the 7-10 scale, this seems like average, that is to say awful for a final fantasy considering all the hype. Here’s hoping SE stop wasting money (AH! like that’ll happen)

I think Joystiqs review said it best
That optional side quests, non-linear dungeons, and NPC populated towns are definitely in this game and were lacking in XIII, but that stuff has been around for decades in RPGs
