The official soundtrack for Tales of Xillia, which went up for pre-order on online retailer Mu-Mo today, reveals that there will be at least eight towns in the PlayStation 3 title.
The soundtrack, which contains 81 songs across three discs, lists the following eight towns (legend: town = song name):
- イル・ファン=夜城に包まれる王都
- ル・ロンド=懐かしき故郷
- ハ・ミル=暁に染まる山村
- カラハ・シャール=活気溢れる商業街
- ニ・アケリア=精霊の里
- ???=戦いのメッカ
- ???=山岳にそびえる覇王の都
- ???=異文明都市
Eight is a large number of towns, especially when compared to other role-playing games this generation (Final Fantasy XIII ). However, past Tales entries have had more. A list compiled by Hachimaki reveals that past titles have had up to fourteen towns:
- Tales of Symphonia – 14 towns
- Tales of Rebirth – 14 towns
- Tales of the Abyss – 14 towns
- Tales of Innocence – 8 towns
- Tales of Vesperia – 14 towns
- Tales of Hearts – 9 towns
- Tales of Graces – 12 towns
We’re guessing it’s either one of two things: 1) The soundtrack doesn’t have the full town list, or 2) The more lifelike scale of Xillia‘s buildings and structures have resulted in bigger towns, but in smaller amount.
The soundtrack itself will release on September 7 for 5,880 yen. First run editions of the CD include a special sleeve, a set of trading cards with a download code, and a bonus disc featuring a talk session between Ysubasa Yonaga and Miyuki Sawashiro, otherwise known as the voice actors behind protagonists Jude Mathis and Milla Maxwell.
