Dengeki shares new Final Fantasy Type-0 details
Dengeki has a huge eight-page feature on Final Fantasy Type-0 this week, offering new details after last weekend’s 20-minute gameplay demonstration.
The magazine reveals Gilgamesh, a l’Cie (Final Fantasy XIII terms) by the Genbu crystal who has forgotten its mission. He’s a huge character and one of the game’s bigger bosses.
Each country in Final Fantasy Type-0 has its own Peristylium. Genbu is that of Lolica, Suzaku of Rebrum, Byakko of Milites, and Souryu of Concordia. The people of Genbu are based in a harsh, mountainous area, and are mostly all soldiers. They cannot easily be defeated by weapons and magic thanks to the power of their crystal.
Rebrum is your home country, where the students of Class Zero reside and fight for. The magazine introduces three playable students and one new NPC. Two of these characters were revealed last week.
- Sice – voiced by Miyki Sawashiro, she uses a Scythe in battle. She’s not very good with words, but has good judgment. The magazine shows her using her “Block Hole” move.
- King – voiced by Tomokazu Sugita, he wields a set of guns. He has the appearance of a cold person, but is very kind in reality. The magazine shows him using his “Power Bullet” ability which deals major damage to nearby enemies.
- Eight – voiced by Miyu Irino, he fights with his bare hands. He has short red hair and is not a fan of weapons, as they can take a person’s life. His special ability lets you unleash a variety of actions by using the d-pad arrows.
- Arecia Al-Rashina – voiced by Atsuko Tanaka, she is a non-playable character. Arecia is head of Suzaku’s magic division and overseas magic development. Viewed as a sorceress who can do unbelievable things, no one knows when she first arrived in Suzaku.
The magazine also talks about the game’s “Active World Map.” When moving about the world map, enemy forces will invade certain areas of the map, and you’ll have to interfere and defend. Of course, random encounter-based battles on the world map are also existent.
On battles, the magazine reveals the game’s “Kill Sight” system, which allows an attack to kill an enemy instantly if a red target is displayed as it’s performed. A less effective “Break Sights” system also allows an attack to do major damage, but this time with a yellow target and no instant kill.
Finally, the “Special Order” system. During a mission, you’ll get special orders in battle, and if you clear them, you’ll get items and other bonuses. However, failing means death. You can choose to accept or ignore the special orders and just go about the standard mission.
Thanks, Andriasang.
