Half-Life developer Valve Software is currently putting the finishing touches on its first-person puzzler sequel, Portal 2, scheduled to ship next month. Other than the latter, the company is currently developing Defense of the Ancients 2 (or Dota 2) for PC. Valve programmer Jeep Barnett has let out first tease that the developer has more console titles in the works.
When asked if Valve would develop another game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Barnett told GamerZines:
“We absolutely could do another game on the platforms that exist as they do now, but in terms of other games that Valve is developing. I don’t think that’s something that would prevent us from making a game. We wouldn’t say we’re not going to ship this until the next generation comes out.”
When pressed as to what those “other games” may be, or if they might possibly be console ports of Dota 2, he responded: “Dota 2 is PC only as far as I know… we’ve got other stuff coming.”
Half-Life 2: Episode Three? Left 4 Dead 3? A new IP? We can only wait to find out.
