Kinect breaks a world record
Kinect sold like hotcakes when it released last November — enough to break a world record, as a matter of fact. Guinness World Records have recognized the motion device as the “Fastest Selling Consumer Electronics Device” ever released. It sold an average of 133,333 units per day for 60 days straight after it launched, totaling in 8 million sales.
“The sales figures here speak for themselves,” said Gaz Deaves, Gaming Editor for Guinness World Records. “After extensive research, we can confirm that no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector.”
Kinect will be published as the “Fastest Selling Consumer Electronics Device” in next year’s Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition book.
