In October 2009, three ex-Bungie developers formed a brand new studio with a focus on developing “high-quality downloadable games”. Today, the studio’s finally revealed what they’ve been working on for the last year.
It’s a 2D side-scrolling shooter called Fallen Frontier. According to Moonshot, the game offers “fast-paced tactical combat, vast interconnected worlds, and an original hard sci-fi universe.” Featuring both single and co-operative play, players will use firearms, grenades, and various special abilities to take down enemies.
The story follows an Earth-born lawman who comes to realize that in a brave new world known as Alpha Centrauri, things aren’t quite as they seem. On a mission of vengeance, the developer promises to develop his story in an “engaging film noir style mystery”.
Check out the first set of screenshots at the gallery. The debut trailer can be seen below.
The game will be at PAX East this weekend. We’ll be on the lookout. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to check it out.
