Back in August, Namco Bandai announced plans to integrate Namco Bandai Games America Inc. and Namco Networks America Inc. into a single company. Today, the company’s announced that the integration has completed.
“Having the two companies join forces has proven to be the best decision for us to create games that appeal to both the casual and hardcore gamer,” said Kenji Hisatsune, President and CEO of NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. “Playing is Believing and we are working hard to bring some of our existing and new IPs across many devices—the Brain series is a perfect example.”
Over the past week, a Namco Bandai-opened teaser site has been constantly changing, distorting images from game series such as Tales, Tekken, Pac-Man, and Galaga. The date, February 2, appeared on the site during one of its days in operation. Earlier this morning, a Famitsu leak provided a first look at Dark Souls, a title Namco Bandai will publish in the west. A Dengeki leak confirmed Namco Bandai will publish FromSoftware‘s Armored Core 5 in the west, as well.
With the recent teasers and magazine leaks, and the company’s new site design, we’re guessing the February 2 date is a full reveal of Namco Bandai America’s plans for 2011, highlighting a new focus for the company.
