It’s almost upon us. Announced and anticipated since September, Square Enix is holding their 1st Production Department Premier press conference in t-minus 8 hours.
While the conference is being held at 18:00 Japan time, a live stream of the presser won’t hit the net until two hours after. Luckily, live-updates such as those from the guy who runs FF-Reunion (most likely translated by Anoop Gantayat through here) will allow Square’s announcements to get out earlier than they’d want.
While we’re still on the subject of FF-Reunion, the site says Square will showcase seven games at the show, which are:
- Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3)
- Final Fantasy Agito XIII (PSP)
- ??? – a new Fabula Nova Crystallis entry (Final Fantasy XIII-2?)
- Dissidia 012: Final Fantasy (PSP)
- Kingdom Hearts 3DS
- ??? – an unannounced title
- ??? – an unannounced title
We’re not sure where they obtained their information, but it’s all we have to run with at the moment. Of course, take the number of unannounced titles with a grain of salt.
Moving back to the live stream: we had originally found a mirror of Square’s live stream that we were going to embed in this post, but it’s since been removed. In order to watch the live stream at 20:00 Japan time, you’d have to be registered and selected via Japan’s Square-Enix Members accounts. It’s an annoying process (especially if you’re not fluent in Japanese) and it’s probably too late to be chosen now. Those unable to watch should be able to catch it on YouTube from the thousands of viewers that record it, anyhow.
The conference begins at 18:00 Japan time/4am EST, January 18. We’ll have all the news on our feed as it breaks.
